The churches of North America have had a quarter century of considerable success in evangelism. They have been enriched by the evangelistic heritage of a previous generation and have learned to use effective modern methods. It is true that their success is being evaluated in widely divergent ways, some respectful and grateful, others sharply critical. Among the latter are in company of social analysts who are bringing everything religious under searching scrutiny, often with unnerving effect.
