There is more interest in christian worship now tahn at any previous time in this century. Most of the attention is directed to the meaning rather than to the means of worship. The focus is evangelical rather than aesthetia. The desire is to understand worship in the context of the whole gospel, and to relate it to the whole of christian living. The practical concern is to worship God in a way that is in keeping with his revelation of himself in Jesus Christi. No one any longer speaks of "enriching our worship services," as if service of christian worship were optional human ceremonies designed primarly to induce certain psychological effects in people.
