Jan Milic Lochman, the distinguished Czech theologian, has given us here a treatment of salvation, wicj rejects what he calls the one-dimensional view. His long struggle with marxism in his own country prepares him well to understand the emphases of liberation theology, wich sees salvation in terms of Isaiah 61 and the sermon of Jesus in Nazareth -release for the captives. Yet, he also reocgnizes that the whole truth about salvation cannot be contained in a new, divinely supported soail programme. In very short compass he attempts a monograph on salvation, looking at aspects of soterology in the Bible and in dogmatic theology.
