In the extant manuscripts of the Greek translation of the Old Testament, the so-colled Septuagint, the "Second Book of Moses" has been given the title "Departure (from Egipt)" - exodos (Aigyptou), and accordingly it has been called Liber Exodi in the Latin Vulgate. This title indicates an important part of the contents, the historical events narrated in the first words of the text "(These are) the names", following a usage widespread in the ancient East.
Exodus from Egypt.
Beginning of Israel's life in the Wilderness.
Making of the covenant on Sinai and the first divine ordinances.
