EarthCurrents is at ince a survey of trends, a reflection on a worls-views, and a proposal for future hope and belief.
Travel to thirteen countries on six continents in 1993 gave me unusual opportunities to see today`s global changes up close. I returned to Ohio convinced of what I had earlier read: We are living through a global revolution -not only politically and economically, but in every area of life and culture.
This book was written to answer my own questions as much as to infrorm other people. Flooded by news reposrts on topics ranging from street violence to genetics to international crises. I pondered: What is the connection? What do today`s changes mean for the future of Planet Earth, and for being human?
I have tried to deal these difficult questions seriously, but not somberly. Occasionally some things may even be said pun-in-cheek. This is a serious book, but it`s okay to have fun with it.
